How DirectAdmin and cPanel charge you
The two panels count different things. DirectAdmin puts you in a fixed tier based on accounts and domains, and its top tier has no limit at all. cPanel keeps counting: every account moves you closer to the next tier, and past 100 accounts each new one adds $0.49.

What is a shared DirectAdmin licence?
A shared DirectAdmin licence is one ShoHost provides for your server’s IP address. You order it, renew it and change its IP from the ShoHost client area instead of holding it in your own name with DirectAdmin. ShoHost is not DirectAdmin or cPanel, and DirectAdmin’s own pricing page says a licence is yours only when you buy it on directadmin.com. If your contracts need a licence in your own name, buy it from the vendor.

How to buy a DirectAdmin licence (3 steps)
Step 1: Check your server
DirectAdmin’s system requirements ask for a clean install of a supported 64-bit Linux (AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, RHEL, CentOS Stream, Debian or Ubuntu), root access, one static IPv4 address and at least 4 GB of RAM. Don’t put it on a server that already runs another control panel. Log in over SSH as root and run:

systemd-detect-virtos-release shows your Linux version, curl prints the public IPv4 you’ll licence, free -h shows memory, and systemd-detect-virt prints something like kvm on a VPS or none on a dedicated server. Note the IP: you’ll need it in the next step.
Step 2: Order the licence with your server IP
Open the DirectAdmin category in the ShoHost licence store and pick a card: RC for standard support or GB for priority support. Click Order Now.
On the configure page, switch the currency to INR if you want to pay in rupees, choose a billing cycle, and type your server’s main IP into the IP * field.
